Virat Kohli expressed,
“I can feel the change. It (new jersey) is so light on the body. It is breathable. I feel there is no restriction at all. It is very stretchable, more than the last jersey. I can’t wait to step on the field with this one.”
The prominent feature of the blue jersey is the inscription of India’s World Cup victories inside at the back of the collar. Two ODI World Cup titles and One T20 World Cup title is highlighted along the scores, dates, three starts, and coordinates of the venues.
In recent past years, Nike has been using recycled material for the Indian team jersey. This time Nike has used recycled Polyester which is quite low weighted and lighter.
The same Blue as a primary color and Orange as secondary color has been used, two shades of blue color are used this time, the darker blue covering the chest whereas the lighter spread towards the sleeves and shoulders.
OPPO written in white on the front mid and on the end of the left sleeve is the main sponsor of India cricket team. OPPO has won the bid of sponsorship rights of Indian cricket team for the logo display on the jerseys and has paid a whopping sum of $10.79 billion for the five years from 2017 to 2022.
After logo, “India” is written in capital letters in orange color across the chest on the darker blue shade. Orange lines are spread through the sides and under the collar which the maker termed as country pride.
Look what Mahendra Singh Dhoni had to say about the new jersey,
“You may have many designs, but ultimately, it’s the fabric that really makes you feel comfortable,”
He further added,
“Wearing it (the jersey) right now, it feels so comfortable like you’re not wearing anything at all. It doesn’t weigh you down.”
India team will be seen in the New Jersey on 6 June in their first match of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 against South Africa in Southampton.
