After India, New Zealand and Australia, On Tuesday, Bangladesh has announced their 15-member Squad for the most awaited Cricket World Cup 2019 which is going to start from 30th May at England and Wales.
No wonder a veteran pacer Mashrafe Murtaza will lead the tiger’s side. Indeed he is the most successful captain and ready to boom in the showpiece event along with Shakib Al Hasan as a vice-captain.
Bangladesh is currently ranking at 7th position in the ICC ODI’s Rankings. They will begin their World Cup journey against Proteas on June 2 at the Kennington Oval; they will also play two warm-up matches again Pakistan and India on 26th and 28th May respectively.
A comeback of young, energetic Mosaddek Hossain will give ambitious support to the Bangladesh batting line. He is talented, his batting style is blessed with a class of quality strokes.
Mosaddek Hossain showed his skill last year in the Asia Cup, and he is ready to surprise opponents in the event by putting some decent runs.
The Bangladesh officials also picked up a magical pacer Abu Jayed in the squad, who had impressed selector and supporter with a brilliant swing in the test match against New Zealand last month.
Abu Jayed is ready to make his ODI debut with pride in the Mega event.
Abu Jayed could be a destructive and match-turning bowler as the condition of England set to favor his swing. He has played three T20s and 5 Test matches so far and picked up a total of 15 wickets which make him great hope for Bangladesh team.
Unexpected, Bangladesh team has several injuries and yet selected in the squad. Mushfiqur Rahim, Mstafizur Rehman, Rubel Hossain, and Mahmudullah all of them struggling to overcome the injuries and fit by the time the Gala event begins.
The middle-order batsman Mahmudullah had a shoulder injury during recent tour against New Zealand. Mustafizur Rahman, the left-arm-fast-medium also had an ankle injury while he was playing a warm-up match in the Dhaka Premier League. Rubel Hossain is going through a body strain too, and Mushfiqur Rahim is treating the broken rib from last year.
The chief physicist of BCB, Debashish Chowdhury said that there are no severe fractures and hoping all the player would recover before the premiere event begins.
The biggest unfortunate lost for the Bangladesh team is the exclusion of Taskin Ahmed, he missed the last tour against New Zealand due to an ankle injury and for sure Bangladesh team and supporter will miss his performance in this summer’s Mega event.

West Indies has announced the 15-member preliminary squad for the ICC World cup 2019 starting May 30 in England and Wales. The team could be changed till May 23 without any special permission of ICC.
Jason Holder will lead the West Indian team in the CWC 2019.
The most destructive and brutal hitters Chris Gayle and hard-hitting all-rounder Andre Russell have been named in the squad.
Gayle and Russell are currently playing in the ongoing IPL 2019.
Andry Russel last ODI appearance was on July 28, 2015, against Bangladesh but his excellent performance in the ongoing IPL convinced the selectors to name him in the final 15.
I spoke to Andre a few days ago, and he assured me that he will be okay for the World Cup. He has a few niggles. He has some pain behind his knee but he assured he’ll be okay for the World Cup,”
Jimmy Adams, CWI Director of Cricket, said.
He further added
He’s scored a lot of runs, and we’ll be using him as a batting all-rounder,” Floyd Reifer, Windies’ interim head coach, said of Russell. “He’s doing very well in the IPL. We have got to manage his injuries and have three to four days rest between the games.”
Chris Gayle has already announced his ODI retirement after CWC and would play his fifth and last World Cup of his magnificent career. Chris Gayle needs only 253 runs to take over Brian Lara and to become a leading run-scorer in the ODI for Caribbean side.
Gayle and Russell contribution in the batting line will make a West Indian as one of the tough contester in the World Cup 2019.
There is an abundance of big-hitting all-rounders in the squad, the leading batsman ready to kick off the show in the event are Chris Gayle, Shimron Hetmyer, Evin Lewis, Shai Hope, Darren Bravo, and Andre Russell. Nicholas Pooran named as wicket-keeper in the squad.
Leg-spinner Devendra Bishoo didn’t select in the squad while Sunil Narine had fitness issues and didn’t make through, instead Ashley Nurse the only spinner set to attack and will take the spin bowling responsibilities.
We had to look past Narine because of his fitness issue, but I know, definitely, he wanted to play for the West Indies side,” Haynes said.
He further added
We had a lot of dialogue with Sunil Narine. He assured that he would have loved to play in the World Cup, but unfortunately, he has an injured finger. He’s getting treatment after every game in IPL, and he’s not capable at the moment to bowl ten overs. He’s struggling to bowl even four overs in the IPL.”
Fabian Allen could be the spin bowling option in the crucial time.
Sheldon Cottrell, Oshane Thomas, Kemar Roach, and Shannon Gabriel are the leading fast bowlers in the squad.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the selection committee announced the Final 15-member Squad for Cricket World cup 2019, after a prominent whitewash to England by 4-0.
When it comes to the Cricket World Cup, the cricket craze in Pakistan is always on a boom, the fan’s perspectives are exciting in Pakistan than elsewhere in the world.
Two fast bowlers Mohammad Amir and Wahab Riaz, have been named into the squad replacing the left-arm pacer Junaid Khan, and the all-rounder Faheem Ashraf.
Previously Muhammad Amir and Wahab Riaz had been dropped when Pakistan announced the preliminary squad last month, but the overall performance against England series Pakistan has made the selectors make changes.
Another change, the middle order Asif Ali has replaced Abid Ali in the squad while the leg spinner Shadab Khan who had a viral infection and dropped from a series against England has now recovered and retains his place in the 15-member squad.
Unfortunately, regular test spinner Yasir Shah, who replaced the Shadab Khan against England series now, has no place in the squad.
Muhammad Amir was previously dropped from the preliminary squad and was given a chance to prove his bowling skills against ODI series against England but could not play any match due to chicken pox infection.
Pakistani team is going through a hard time in ODI tournament and faced back to back whitewashes from Australia and then England with 5-0 and 4-0 respectively.
Muhammad Amir had his medical examination in London, and PCB has now announced that he has recovered and fit to play in the World Cup 2019.
Muhammad Amir could be the match winner bowler if he maintains his rhythm just like the way he performed in the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 final.
Chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq told the reporters in a press briefing
After it became obvious that the bat is likely to dominate the ball in the World Cup, we revisited our strategy and reverted to the pace of Mohammad Amir and Wahab Riaz. Amir and Wahab give the fast bowling attack more experience to back and support the relatively inexperienced, but immensely talented, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Mohammad Hasnain.”
We believed that right now, utilizing the World Cup experience and knowledge of Wahab was the correct choice. Wahab has been training and playing club cricket, and a player of his caliber will not face much problem in adapting and adjusting to the grueling demands of the World Cup. If we have at our disposal two vastly experienced pacers in Amir and Wahab, then it will be foolish not to include them.”
Due to recent good batting performance against England, Pakistan has decided to focus more on the middle order as Pakistan has intense competition in the top order. Imam-ul-Haq had an incredible series against England and guaranteed his spot along with Fakhar Zaman; both openers were in sizzling form against England.
Now Abid Ali was the third choice for opening, However, Pakistan preferred to include big hitter Asif Ali in place of Abid Ali, who could bat in the middle order and support the batting line in a crucial time.
“It has not been an easy decision to leave out Abid, particularly after he got only one opportunity on tour,” Inzamam said.
But he was our third-choice opener. After both the first-choice openers struck early form, we preferred Asif Ali as he brings firepower to the team that can strengthen our chances in the tournament.”
Inzi further added.
Wahab Riaz will join the squad in Bristol on May 22. Pakistan is ready to play the warm-up matches against Afghanistan and Bangladesh on 24 and 26 May, and they will kick off their first World Cup 2019 match against West Indies on May 31.
